2 weeks in Feb/March - where do I go?

I am going to take an extended spring break and have 2 weeks to go on a vacation somewhere. It will be at the end of february and beginning of march. I am considering (in no particular order):

1) New Zealand
2) Japan
3) Thailand
4) Brazil

Here are the things that I consider to be important for this trip: good food, good nightlife, ease of travelling alone, ease of getting around only speaking english, cost (I am a student).

I think given what I want to get out of this trip, I am leaning towards Thailand, but am concerned that 2 weeks is not enough to spend there. Also, I will have a month-long vacation in August that I am considering going to Thailand for.

Any advice or insight the fabulous members of this board can give would be much appreciated!

I agree with you that you'll need more than 2 weeks in Thailand. My old neighbor went and traveled around for 6 months, had the time of his life, found a girlfriend, went back to the US to take care of some finances then moved to Thailand to live there with his girlfriend for good.

New Zealand seems to be similar in my mind with all that beautiful scenery. I could easily spend months there.

I'd say Brazil or Japan for 2 weeks, Japan might be the best option for that short of time.

Those are my thoughts anyways. Let us know what you pick!
