Default Quito and the Galapagos Islands

I'm scheduled to finish a tour of South America on the 21st September.

I really want to do the Galapagos Islands.

I know there is a wide variation in the tours. I want a longer trip that takes in most of the islands (with a good guide) I would prefer not to get bent over on the price, but realise it isn't going to be cheap. I figure what the hell, if I'm prepared to splash the cash to get out there I'm prepared to pay for the proper trip.

I realise I going to get shafted for a single occupancy on the cabin. I'm not too fussed on the quality of the boat. I am fussed on getting a decent guide. I think this is important to see the islands properly.

So can any one recommend any tour companies to either avoid or that are any good. And a rough indication of prices I should be looking at paying (preferably in UK £ but hey I can do the maths for any currency) From what I've seen 10 days seems to be the most you can do, and I don't mind paying for the experience.

Any and all advice is much appreciated

Cheers

Apparently you're one of the first TPunkers to get there!! So that's provably why no one could answer your questions, but we'll love to hear all your comments, tips and advice you can give us as well as your travel stories + pictures when you get back!!

Will do...not there until September...but will report back.

Booked through GAP in the end. You can apparently just turn up, but I am on limited time as I want to get to NZ after so figured it was best to book as I don't want to miss out!
