The Lettem Sleep Hostel in Nurnberg, Germany was the best hostel I stayed at in a whole five weeks in western Europe. The showers weren't ideal (almost NO room) but the rooms were clean, there were free lockers (you just need your own lock) and a common room that always had something going on. The staff was super friendly and would hang out in the common room all night and help you out with trip planning (I was trying to figure out where to go in Italy and they were super friendly). The prices were insanely cheap, even in the high tourist season, there was a kitchen to use and TONS of friendly people staying there, plus it was close to the train station as well as the downtown core. I hit up 8 cities (and slept in 10 places) in five weeks and this was by far the cheapest, most fun, greatest place. Plus Nurnberg is a kick ass town!
