croatian cruise
Hi I will be a solo female traveler in July this year. I haven't got any set plans yet but will be flying in and out of heathrow at the beginning and end of the month. I am considering taking an sta dolmation island cruise. It looks beautiful, is apparently not as touristy as other parts of the Mediterranean and I've got a fair amount of money to spend. But everyone is telling me that it's too dangerous and that i should stick more to italy. I really want to go but what are your thoughts??

You'll be fine. No matter where you go, it always seems there are tons of people telling you the place you travel to is too dangerous. 99.95% of the time, they're wrong.
Especially if you'll be on something like an STA cruise. You'll totally be fine. Go wherever in the mediterrenean your heart desires. Have fun!

Croatia is not dangerous, certainly not any more so than other European countries. Many people from these boards have been there, I myself went two years ago. Its beautiful up and down that coast. Oh, but it is pretty touristy.

Friends of ours took a "small ship" cruise in Croatia and loved it. They liked the fact that they were able to get into smaller bays that the big cruise ships had to bypass. Less crowded, more friendly with the other passengers, and they liked diving into the bays directly from the deck. Totally safe.

The Eastern European countries are being talked about in all holiday magazines as the place to go for everything you want to do in western European countries for half the price.
Me and a friend are going to Croatia sometime over the coming months and I'm not worried at all. The only places you really have to worry going to in Europe are the spots over run by stag party's, as the stags have really worn out the welcome with the locals.
