Default Smoking around the world

As we know smoking has become a hot button issue and various countries around the world are adopting smoke free measures. I thought it would be nice to provide a link to the BBC showing the different rules in the countries that have done so. I would hate for someone to light up in all innocence and get a huge fine!

I have a good friend with a heavy Scottish accent who lights up in bars in Canada all the time and just plays it off like he's on vacation and didn't know. Haha, still gets in trouble sometimes though.

I'm surprised how quickly we all took to it. I remember everyone saying they'd smoke anyway and it would never work in this country.

I'm a smoker and I can't say it's all that much of an inconvenience. It's better in allot of ways. I don't think it will be long before it's commonplace all over the world.

Ashland's bars are all going smoke free this year one by one, and it's awesome. I used to be a smoker, and I still would go outside to smoke because it gets so heavy inside! If a bar's smoke free it's really nice to have a patio with some heat lamps or tables for smokers to kick it outside too.

I've lived in 2 places that banned smoking in bars/restaurants and the wailing about it was unbelievable...you'd have thought they were banning alcohol or something. Here is Austin the measure just BARELY passed.

And about a week after the ban no one ever mentions it anymore. And I think if it ever came up for a revote it would pass by a mile, because the non-smokers notice they don't have smelly clothes after a night at the bar and a lot of smokers even like the cleaner air.
