Default Washington how safe is it?

I am hoping to go to Washington in for the Stewart/Colbert rally but I ave a question-is Washington fairly safe? In other words if I decided to crash at the Greyhound bus terminal instead of paying for a hostel/hotel would I be OK doing this or do I really need a dafe place to stay?

I had no problem there. I couchsurfed (my first couch surfing experience was here) and loved it. I dont remember much from the bus station, but I reckon pretty sleepable in.....you probably wont be the only one as well.

I just booked my Greyhound tickets (kill me now! but Stewart is worth it!). What is your itinerary like? I am arriving in DC on early Friday morning (allegedly 2:35 AM).

If you want to stay somewhere you better book now. Apparently everyone is calling up trying to find a free bed. I've already got a bed and the hostel sent me an email saying if I cancel after Oct 12 I'm going to get a big slap on my visa card.
