How far would you be willing to drive?? Are you trying to keep it real close to the Austin area??

gd - Ah, you're in DFW fo real? I'm just south of y'all in Wacko.
There's Lake Whitney by Hillsboro, Glen Rose Dinosaur Valley State Park to the west and Enchanted Rock closer by Austin...

yeah voyd, i'm only about an hour away from you, apparently. i have been to glen rose and it was so much fun. my friend craig (awesome guy who's now crawling around in caves somewhere in new mexico-he's an anthropologist) knew some people who lived out there and they let us camp out on their private property and the next day we hiked all over the place. we found the coolest hidden stuff in the sides of the earth. i havn't been to lake whitney, though. i have a one-year-old son so my travels have to stick close to home but i gotta get out, you know? have you ever gone canoeing on the brazos? i would LOVE to do that again.

glen rose is cool, lake whitney is fun but alot better if you have a boat. I like camping in tyler state park also. Possum kingdom is nice. Some of the state public lands that are not listed for parks are interesting too. I camped on some public hunting land and had a real good time I only saw two other people the whole time me and my friends were out there.

Ya, I haven't actually even been to Whitney or Glen Rose myself yet. That does sound cool with the dino tracks and all. I have been to Enchanted Rock and Possum Kingdom (out a bit farther west), though. Gone tubing and cliff-jumping in New Braunfels too - but that's even farther south of Austin.
I have also canoed the Brazos before (or, various rivers and lakes, forget which all ones). It actually passes right through Wacko here too. Where did you canoe on it? Ever been to Brazos Bend State park just west of SugarLand? Man, that place is one huge gator farm! Good thing they're all well-fed.
So, where you at, dudeman?
