Good, cheap hostels (London)?
I am going to be in Europe in May and June, starting in the UK and then going all over the place. I haven't really looked at much outside of London, but I have researched a lot about the London hostels. It's so hard because half of the reviews for a hostel will be great and the other half will say how horrific the hostel is. In London, I have narrowed down my choices to the Millennium Lodge or the Generator. Has anyone ever stayed at either? Or are there any other cheap, good hostels in London? How about the rest of Western Europe? Any suggestions?

My roomate stayed in a long-term hostel for six months in London this summer. He really liked it. I'm emailing him for the name of it. I think its about 80pounds/week. I'm not sure if they have daily rates and this info might be useless if you're not staying for a week. I'll keep you posted.

YHI-Hampstead Heath in Golders Green. It's great! The friendly staff and very clean and as cheap as going to get. It is also safe, has a kitchen (small), which serves meals and there are supermarkets and places to eat nearby. Not only flaw is that it is not right in the center of the city.
