Asia Truly...a different world. Kazakhstan, Japan, and everything in between. Mekong River, Central Asia deserts, sticky rice, ancient traditions, temples, tuk-tuk... |

Where to go in SEA?
Hi
I'm currently going to school in Japan and for spring break I think SeA is a must. However I am not exactly sure where to go. I have looked into Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Cambodia and they all seem awesome.
I am in to seeing the cities and getting a feel for the culture and eating whatever they serve but I also like the adventure trips through the jungle and things like that.
I have 2 weeks. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I can only vouch for Thailand. I loved the place. Spent time in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui and Koh Phangnan.
Bangkok is a very intriguing experience, you'll be able to get a real taste of Thailand there.
I did a trek in Chiang Mai and thought it was great you can visit the Kayan tribe (women with elongated necks) numerous waterfalls, see the tropical forest etc
Koh Phi Phi (both islands) are beautiful and you can't help but relax there.
Samui and Phangnan are ok. More so party islands, although there are some really nice attractions there too.
That was a brief summary i can go into much further detail if you like the idea of any of those above. Give me a shout if you need help.

Thailand is the #1 place to go in Asia. There are hundreds of untouched islands and jungles out there that most people have never traveled to. Its the best.
you really need not worry about finding cheap Bangkok accommodations as there are loads of hotels, hostels, even houses for rent.

Thailand isn't the most popular tourist destination in SE Asia for no reason.
