Thailand and the Weather!!!
Hey chaps and chapettes!!
Booking a short three week trip to Thailand from the 14th of August till the 31st can anyone give me an idea of what the weather will be like around then? Will be in bangkok for a few days and then down south in all likelyhood.
Also when travelling from bangkok too say phuket or ko sumui (sp?) would i get a better experience travelling down by plane or bus? It's like see more of thailand by bus but lose a bit of time or fly down and enjoy the south a bit more!!
Thanks for your help :D

Hey thanks for the welcome!
I was a regular reader around five years back when i went round europe for two months and again about two years ago when i was planning new zealand for 3 months, unfortunately i had a bad accident which stopped that trip, but me and my buddy are really looking forward to this one.
I'll stick around dn't worry

I only spent 2 days in Thailand, so I can't help you much. I know it is still monsoon in August (more details here), but as others and I have experienced, monsoon is usually not that bad. It rains everyday for a couple of hours and then stops. But some days can be worse than others, unpredictably though.

HOT AND HUMID!! I was there a couple years back at the same time. You will be sweating the minute you walk outside! As for getting there, there are cheap flights on AirAsia if you prefer to fly.
But regardless of how hot it is, you will enjoy the south and the great beaches and friendly people!
