Asia Truly...a different world. Kazakhstan, Japan, and everything in between. Mekong River, Central Asia deserts, sticky rice, ancient traditions, temples, tuk-tuk... |

SEA 4(+) month budget??
Aside from flight costs. Can anyone who has been through Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam for a period of a month of more give some sort of expectation for a budget...?

These destinations are ideal for low cost travel. Daily budget for food-housing-inner travel will vary between $10-$30, and if you are really good, you can even lower your expenses. Bangkok and the large cities in Vietnam were the most expensive, according to my experience, because the cost for a hostel room is higher there.
You also need to get visas for Vietnam (I think $60), Laos (about $30) and Cambodia (??).

As the more and more research I do, it looks possible budget wise to get from Toronto, ON to London, UK and to take the rail east as far as possible (Budapest?) and fly into India... Or TO to London to KL
