I use MSN...seems pretty universal.
I anyone using Skype? Not exactly instant messaging but close enough I suppose...does anyone know if it's available in North America? It's like a free voice-over-internet-protocol system...
A buddy of mine in the UK and one in Sweden/Germany use it...they can call anyone, anywhere over the internet for free...well, free expect for the cost of their internet connection.

Serious?! How do they charge? I think the software's free no? Is it just like a phone company - per call or per minute or something?

AIM - mostly for work, but if you're ever on and want to chat, I'm Tavallai
I just tried Skype, trying something new for work.. Looks pretty cool. I think they only charge for calls that go to physical phone lines - they call it SkypeOut. It's $.17/min for "standard" calling areas, and more elsewhere. I dunno, I think the computer-to-computer thing is just fine. Otherwise, I'll use the free long distance minutes I have from T-Mobile.

MSN girl here. MSN is great for free long distance conversations. I talk to people in Australia all the time. I had AIM for a while, but no one I knew used it, so I stopped using it.
