Default Guatemala & Belize- info needed

Hey All,

Im heading to Mexico next month and plan on spending around ten days in Guate and Belize coming from San Christobal in Mexcio through Guatemala into Belize then back to Mexico through Chetumal.

Where do you all recommed I go?
I was thinking of spending 3/4 days at various villages in Lake Atitlan, a day or two at Tikal and then a few days on the coast in Belize (but I have no idea where)

My questions are:
Where could I stop between Lake Atitlan and Tikal?
Where can I do activities such as Rafting, climbing and Hiking?
What is the best way to spend 3 days in North Belize?
What should I expect to spend per day in Guate and Belize?

Any tips or personal experiances welcome?

Thanks all

Sadly, I've only done my research on those areas, and haven't been yet. There are a ton of Tpunks that have been through those areas, so hang out and they will be along to help you out!
Cheers

Stop at Semuc Champey in between Atitlan and Tikal, swim through the caves there and climb up to see the pools before jumping into them. Hiking seemed to be more in the north near Xela, but check out Volcan Pacaya if you swing through Antigua. I spent less than US20 a day in Guate, but didn't make it to Belize...I heard it's more expensive though. Good luck...I have some old threads up on my experience 'packing through the area if you do a search for them.
