Great idea! I haven't really thought of my life goals, except what is expected of me, and now I see fuck the expectations and go for what I want. Here is my list (no particular order and they may change at anytime in the future):

- Learn to windsurf
- Learn atleast two languages (fluent) instead of getting to lesson 5 and becoming to lazy
- Travel to atleast every continent (I won't be upset if I don't make Antartica)
- Publish atleast one book or write one screenplay before I turn 25
- Take more pictures of life and write about my experience as much as possible
- Become a teacher after I retire from whatever I do
- Have kids at some point and be married (no rush; just something that is important)
- Alot more but I have to wrap this short so I don't bore you

Well, that is it for now. I probably have other goals, but that is all I could think up for now. And again, great discussion.

Here are mine,

I have wanted to convert a coach into a motorhome and travel round europe, i'm very much into my photography and would like to pay for my travels with this. has anybody photographed events to make money on their travels, such as sporting events. anyway after traveling the parts of europe i want to see, i would the like to see how far i could make it, any country where ever, just places ive never been.

The next thing would be to get a pilotes license, tht way you can see the world from a different perspective and i guess it would be cool.

I would also like to gain more confidence, be more outgoing and meet loads more people on same wave length.
another thing would be to find a girl that could put up with me :D and not take my new found confidence

that will suffice..... for now anyway.

oooo and maybe the save/earn the money quickly to do all this would be good

oh yeah and anyone wanna join me on this trip?

My goals

Go to South America
Get a university degree
move back to my native Canada
See Bob Dylan in concert

not goals but stuff I wouldn't mind doing
starting a private ESL school
learn to play 1 musical instrument
travel to all 6 continents

I have oh so many of these...

1. Once I'm done college: drop off the face of the earth... or.... the U.S.? I can't stand being here. Every moment of my life I just want to jump on a plane to somewhere and do whatever...

2. Get writing more. My journalism teacher has given me a page of the paper to edit with a friend (journalism one students usually only learn rules of writing and stuff like that that has nothing to do with actually writing...), and i think she said we could start writing articles as well...

3. I don't want to depend on my parents once I'm 18 (except for you know... college...), so I plan on moving out when I'm 18...

4. Bungee jump

5. skydive

6. scuba

7. meet some tpunks (april...aaaaapriiiil)

8. get a tattoo.

9. Learn to not regret things, no matter what happens...

Great topic! I don't make life goals, but ones I can accomplish within the near future (or hell, in my 20s...I'll give myself a little time!).

1) Teach dance for a living again

2) Go on a Safari (HIGH PRIORITY HERE, I'm talkin within the next year)

3) See the Pyramids

4) Become fluent in at least 2 languages...I'm working on the first.

5) Set foot on every continent except Antarctica (three down, three to go!)

6) Study dance on every continent I can

I wanted to add this poem into this thread. I read it for class and it reminded me of this topic. Its called Dream Deferred by Langston hughes.

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up
like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags
like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

My Life Dreams:
1) go to every country in the world for at least a week(starting with europe next year)
2) Get my diving license
3) get my pilotes license
4) go to university or college and get a good paying job
5) Fall in love and be able to support my family and have at least 2 kids
6) have a T.V. show with me as the host and it be on traveling around the world.
7) Hike the alps
8) Go on a week trek into straightbush with nothing but a backpack and no trails.
9) Snowboard On as many alpine resorts as possible
10)Invent Something

Work in industry for about 10 years soaking up all the knowledge I can and then buy a couple small fields and own my own independent oil company. My own little version of becoming my own boss someday.

i want to find a job while in paris that will earn me enough money to go to the prato fire academy in italy.
i want to dance barefoot on a beach in thailand.
i want to dance barefoot on a beach in mexico.
i want to see what it looks like above the canopy in an amazon rainforest.
i want to teach children who don't already speak it, english.
i want to try foods i wouldn't and like them.
i want to learn to snowboard in the alps.
i want to learn to surf somewhere a wetsuit is not needed.
i want to eat an avocado i have picked off a tree, cut in half and pour lime juice on it from the lime i have picked off a tree and eat it while barefoot.
i want tattoos on my hips, on my feet, the back of my neck and the small of my back.
i want the aforementioned tattoos to be aquired on different continents.
i want a home with cats and dogs and chickens and maybe goats.
i want the freedom to spend the whole day in a tree if i choose.
i want to be take more naps in sunbeams.
i want wrinkles that suit me because i have spent so much time laughing and earning them.
i want to learn to drive a motorcycle.
i want to be flexible, in body and mind.
i want to go skinny dipping in the moonlight. when i'm 80.
i want to go sailing on a boat that isn't a ferry until i can't see land and then go swimming.
i want to build amazing rope swings and swing them.
i want to bathe in a waterfall that's warm.
i want the right to make an ass of myself, if i choose.
i want to spend time with grandchildren, whether mine or someone else's doesn't concern me.

i want to learn as much as i can.
