Default Emilie Youth Hostel - Gibraltar, UK (La Linea, Spain)

I stayed at this place in Gibraltar. As far as I know it was the only youth hostel on the rock. It is 15GBP which is a ridiculous 30USD per night but still far and away the cheapest accommodation there (or on the Spanish side for that matter). The rooms are real basic, four bunks, a small painting and that's about it. It looks like an old house that was converted to a hostel. I believe there are only 3 rooms with 4 bunks each so space is limited. It kind of reminds me of the hostel Hwei, Mark and I stayed on Clearwater beach.

The free breakfast was typically Spanish, coffee or tea and toast with jam. Although if you visit, avoid calling the folks here Spanish. They are British subjects and have been longer than the US has been independent.

It is very easy to find. From the main square you go past the Burger King and cross the street. There is a sign leading up a small hill.

If you have two (or more) travelers across the border in La Linea there is a very nice modern hotel for about 70 Euros a night where my father and I stayed in 2006 or the Cannon Hotel on the rock for 30 GBP a night.
