Default Heading to Manchester, UK - Looking for stuff to do!

Hello everybody,

I'm new here and I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this kind of inquiry, but here goes:

I'm heading to Manchester, UK for a week or so. From May 17th to May 24th. I'm meeting a friend there and I have a few ideas for what to do, but I need a few suggestions.

I'm interested in something physical, something adrenaline-related and fun! I'd love to go quad biking, or bungee jumping. I found a place that has a big indoor skiing slope. I don't ski, but I'm definitely going to give it a try!

I have seen sites, like this one: Argh I can't post a link, but it's called "Adventure Heaven"

The problem with that site, and others, is that there are no dates. You have to buy a "voucher" and then you can redeem it for the activity, but there is no indication for when the event takes place, or where (aside a city name), and there are very few details.

The whole thing seems sketchy and unreliable. I'm looking for something concrete and understandable.

I'm new to traveling, this will be my first time leaving North America - I'm hoping some seasoned veterans will be able to show me how to find stuff like this!!

Thanks a bunch guys.

BTW I'm not really interested in standard tourist stuff, like museums and galleries and landmarks and the like. I AM interested in nice scenery though, as I'm a photographer hobbyist. So I'm open to recommendations on particularly beautiful parts of town or areas that would make a nice photo!

You could look further afield than Manchester, you can get to allot of the other major cities within a day, the UK has an excellent road and rail network. Well it does compared to Ireland, they complain about their roads but really they don't know how good they have it.

Wales would have loads of adventure stuff available and it's right next to Manchester.
