I'm flying to Kampala (Uganda) via Dubai and Nairobi in a few weeks, then by land to Kenya and Tanzania and have a couple of questions about visas.
Firstly, is it possible to get them on the border when you enter Kenya and Tanzania? I know you can get one on arrival in Uganda but can't find any info on the other countries.
Also, does anyone know how long it is likely to take and how much it costs when you are out there?
And will I need a visa for the UAE when just changing flights or Kenya when on my way through to Uganda (My flight stops for only about an hour in Nairobi).
Cheers.

Well, I don't know if you're from the US, but-- all visa information for US citizens going to any country can be found here: http://www.travel.state.gov
Have an amazing time and welcome to the boards!

The UAE gives free transit visas for people doing stopovers.
According to This site you don't need a visa if you don't plan to leave the airport in UAE.
Finding info on Kenya is a bit harder.

Generally, if you're transferring to another international flight, you pretty much never need a visa. Since you get shuttled down the hallway from one plane to the next, you never go through immigrations or customs.

I have found the State Departmentswebpage to be completely useless and inaccurate at times. Dont put too much faith in it, especially in Africa.
