So I am reading this book that I got for Christmas and one on the lines in it really caught my eye:
She is talking about how her "European Backpacking Extraviganza" is going to be expensive, but some how she new it would be worth it. She thinks back to something her brother once told her "Crystal, worry about the money later, because when your eighty, you'd pay a million dollars to be twenty-three and in europe."
I feel that this is so true even thought I am not 80, I can not imagine a better trip than the one I had this summer.

Great quotes.
My favorite has always been the response of the US commanding officer in Bastonge during WW II when his 101st airborne was hopelessly surrounded by superior German forces. He was asked to surrender by the German commander and all he sent back was a one word reply: "Nuts!"
some other good ones:
I firmly believe the world will sort itself out in the end. Believe it with me. At least none of us will be around to be proven wrong.
-Stuart Wilde "The Secrets of Life"
At the center of your being you have the answer; You know who you are and you know what you want.
-Lao-tzu
When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.
Charles Austin Beard
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.
Albert Einstein
In my humble opinion, Einstein probably has more amazing quotes than anyone I've ever read.

These are "negative" quotes, but inspirational in how short-sighted and wrong these status-quo naysayers turned out to be:
Quote:
"Everything that can be invented has been invented." - Charles H. Duell, Commissioner, U.S. Office of Patents, 1899
|
Quote:
"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers." - Thomas Watson, chairman of IBM, 1943

"Computers in the future may weigh no more than 1.5 tons." - Popular Mechanics, forecasting the relentless march of science, 1949
|
Quote:
"I have traveled the length and breadth of this country and talked with the best people, and I can assure you that data processing is a fad that won't last out the year." - The editor in charge of business books for Prentice Hall, 1957
|
Quote:
"But what ... is it good for?" - Engineer at the Advanced Computing Systems Division of IBM, 1968, commenting on the microchip
|
Quote:
"So we went to Atari and said, 'Hey, we've got this amazing thing, even built with some of your parts, and what do you think about funding us?* Or we'll give it to you. We just want to do it. Pay our salary, we'll come work for you.'* And they said, 'No.'* So then we went to Hewlett-Packard, and they said, 'Hey, we don't need you.* You haven't got through college yet.'" - Apple Computer Inc. founder Steve Jobs on attempts to get Atari and H-P interested in his and Steve Wozniak's personal computer

I don't know if this is exactly positive, but I love what it says about having the courage of one's convictions:
Duke of Norfolk: "...I don't know whether the marriage was lawful or not. But damn it, Thomas, look at those names...You know those men! Can't you do what I did, and come with us, for fellowship?"
(St.) Sir Thomas More: "And when we stand before God, and you are sent to Paradise for doing according to your conscience, and I am damned for not doing according to mine, will you come with me, for fellowship?"

And just because
