Prosper.com
I came across this site called Prosper.com. Its a person to person lending site. I was all ready to invest like $100 to try it out, but they only let people from certain states lend and NC is not one of them Still an interesting concept!

also in several of the allowed states you must have an annual gross income greater than $70,000 and a net worth greater than $70,000.
Looks like I'm out!

I looked at this site a couple of years ago for loans, but decided on increasing my Amex and other credit cards instead. It was just easier at the time.
For lending money, I opted for kiva.org (join our team!)
You can start with $25 immediately !
