Default nepal to delhi via land?

hello! i am looking for a route from nepal to delhi via land. i know varanasi is a popular hub to jump to nepal but i would rather go direct to delhi as my int'l flight leaves from ND airport...and varanasi is still a 15 hour train away.

any popular routes from nepal to delhi? how long is the journey? i am flying from del to kathmandu ... would like to come back via land to save $$.

thanks guys!

I'm pretty sure there buses that run from Delhi to Kathmandu, but I think the journey can take about 36 hours and I've heard some interesting stories, so maybe even longer...I just flew both ways. Good luck!

Yeah, you're looking at flight = $ but overland = waaaayyyy more time. The flight should be somewhere between about $90-$150 and the bus probably somewhere in the vicinity of $25 or so, but frankly I'd probably spend the money on the flight after the many experiences I've had on long-haul Indian buses.
