Default Headin' To Cuba!

First of all, it's good to be back! I haven't visited TP since '09! Glad to see it's still rolling along.

So here's the low-down:
My girlfriend and I are going to have a kid in June, so we've decided to take one last trip as a couple.

As an American ex-pat living in Canada, I hear all the time about people going to Cuba (it's like going to Mexico for Canadians). From what I've read, the only practical barrier for Americans to go to Cuba is the lack of American flights going there. We live in Canada. Problem solved. I know that Technically I'm still not supposed to go, but that makes it all the more fun.

We're really not into the whole Everything-Included Resort scene, and are thinking about staying in a Casa Particulare (A house that can be rented). They're like 15 bucks a night!

So, to cut to the chase: Has anybody here been to Cuba? Any recommendations?

Welcome back, bro! I've never been to Cuba (but have always wanted too). I know Canadiandude has been there, but haven't seen him in a while. You might want to send him a pm and see if he responds.

Just don't let them stamp your passport in Cuba or you may be subject to a fine from the US government if they it. I think they'll stamp a separate piece of paper.
