First time I read this, but absolutely legendary. Good work getting it down to just one guy. Honestly at that point you could've grabbed his camera from around his neck and done all sorts of bad to him. Running works too though .

Luxor, Egypt: same story, less smutty.
The people have polio and the horses have TB so naturally, you want to help support these people by giving them your business. This is good and fun, but once you're in a shop, good luck getting out.
Here's what happened to me:
My friend (male) and I were walking along the street when a guy driving a horse/buggy dealy pulled forward. He asked if we wanted to go on a quick jot around the neighborhood so as good tourists we obliged him.
After 10 minutes of trotting along and chatting us up, he said he needed to rest his horse and get a quick bite to eat. Of course he hitched the horse in front of a building that was a two story store that was having a "sale".
After we said no, no we really must get back he had this pleading look in his eyes like, "Please don't do this to me, stay for a minute". When we managed to get out after a making a purpose and got back to our boat, our guide told us that most of those horse n buggies are hired by the store owners to swing travelers by in exchange for meager commission and/or a meal.
