Well I have been told that I will have possession by March 1st. But I don't know if I believe that. I will have my sign up on Wednesday, finally. I still need ceiling tiles, a mob sink, toilet/sink, and my front door. But hey, it can happen in 5 days.
I don't have much of a choice but to hang in there at this point. Although it is a bit discouraging to be hyped up about something have it drag on and on for so many months without anything happening. It gets almost tiresome now with people asking "So when is your shop gonna open?" and really the only honest answer I can give is "I don't know". I don't even feel like giving another anticipated date, it just seems to make it worse.
But everytime I see a bit more done it gets me excited again. Once I have keys, and we can get carpet and shelving in there, it will be flippin awesome!

Amazing, it has been nearly 2 months since I have been here. Um.. well I did finally get posession of my shop on March 23. (I consider it a birthday present, good things always seem to happen around my birthday). We are slated for grand opening May 12th! We finished painting, and taking care of other such things. We have laid the carpet, started getting inventory in like mad. We got our shelving fixtures in. It's actually starting to look like a store.
Of course, it is also starting to takes its toll. Long hours, balancing a business and a job. Trying to keep everything balanced takes a lot as many people here have experienced. But its all for a greater good. Our accountant messed up our taxes and we have had to file an extension. We are changing accountants. We are trying to work diligently at the store to get it ready before a quickly nearing deadline while keeping up on our website and prevent sales from slipping worse than we have let them.
It all wouldn't be so bad, but the fact that work just gets worse and worse. We are short staffed already and people call off, so it ends up being an 8 hour hell of dealing with aggravating customers and working my ass off only to have to go spend another 6-8 hours trying to work on the shop. All I keep telling myself is that this hard work will pay off with reduced hours at my 'job' which will allow me to enjoy by business more. September/October can't get here soon enough.
is about the most uptodate picture I have uploaded at the moment.

Well here it is, the end of May. I have pictures I will upload (or link to). The shop is ready! We got our Cert of Occupancy on Friday, and our Grand Opening is this Friday and Saturday!!! (June 2nd and 3rd). This is truly exciting...
Everything has finally gotten done and it has finally all come together! Anyone in the Detroit area, feel free to stop by and check it out! I hope this can help provide funding for traveling at some point.. lol.
Peace out everyone... hope to stop in a little more frequently... miss y'all!
These are some beginning pics of when we started setup.
The shelf that is behind the counter, holds are CCG cards, etc.
The RC Counter in the back of the store. High end items (i.e. radios, motors, tools) go in the display case.
A pic of the Sign in the front of our store... daylight doesn't do it justice.
Probably the best shot to give an idea of the size of the shop. Of course now its full of shelving and displays.
