Heard Swedish is hard to learn...
Is that true? I'm moving there in August for school and I have learned through previous travels that I hate not having at least a basic knowledge of the language of the country I'm visiting and since I'll be actually living there it makes this even more important. I'm fairly decent at picking up new languages but, like I said, I heard Swedish is particularly tough. Is this true?

I've heard Swedish is one of the easier languages for English speakers to learn. On the other hand I've always heard that Finnish is really hard.

I learned a little Norwegian and found it relatively easy (easier than Spanish and Chinese anyway). Contrary to what you have probably been told, English is an easy language (from a grammar point of view--pronunciation sucks). If you speak some German it will be even easier
