There's quite a few online travel insurance companies - if you Google them. Makesure you chosoe one with a reputable underwriter and check the cover limits etc (and I know it's a hassle, but also read their T&Cs).

well its for oz and singapore. but only staying in singapore for a week so might just get a weeks insurance for that rather than getting 12 months world wide.

Where are you from? Because I think it's easier to get travel insurance from your country of residence - but I could be wrong. For example, I'm from Australia - and most insurance policies have a residency requirement so if you haven't been living in Australia for the last 3 months or maybe more, you don't qualify for the insurance. Something to look into.

Wherever you are, using Google you could be able to find a few to read and compare.

hello

if you want cheap and good travel insurance, go for "world nomads" just search google to find their internet outlet from your country of residence. and as a bonus you can renew it, or start a new policy while you are already overseas..its all on the net and they dont dick you around on claims...

Steve

Ive just bought an annual policy for about £60 (no excesses) from 1stoptravelinsurance (something like that!). Cant see any catches with it though the default no of days away in any single journey is 30 so if your away longer then give them a call for a quote. They also do a backpacker specific insurance which should be a lot less than £267 !!

Even better, there is a discount code over on retailmenot.com that'll get you a 5% discount off your policy when you buy it

If you haven't booked it yet, check out insureandgo.com, they always seem to come out cheapest for me.

I also read a post recently that recommended ACEinsurance - I'd never heard of them, but apparently their policies were quite competitively priced. Not sure about the level of cover you get tho.

Theres some of the big names paying cashback (upto 16%) through quidco http://www.quidco.com/finance/travel-insurance/ I'm thinking about Travel Insurance Web 15% cashback, and prices cheaper than most. Cover seems comparable.

Hi all,
There are so many backpacker insurance companies in market. You just have to search online. Internet makes it easy to search and it will be easy to get quotes. You can compare them and can get the best one.
