France/Italy itinerary (not mine unfortunately)
Hi guys,
My parents are planning a trip to France and Italy from the 22nd of August til the 16th of September. I was hoping a few TPunks with more experience in the area than me could help me out.
So far the itinerary they've devised is:
August 23 - 5 nights in Paris
28th - Flying to Nice for one night
29th - Train to Cinque Terra for 3 nights
1st Sep - Train to Florence for 4 nights (checking out Pisa on the way)
6th- Train to Rome for 3 nights
9th - Sorrento 3 Nights
12th - Fly to Venice for 3 nights
15th - Milan 2 nights
17th Home
I've already suggested less time in Venice and perhaps more in Nice or Rome. Any adjustments or other destinations you guys want to reccomend will be appreciated.
Thanks!

I think you can also peel off a day in Florence

I agree with you, I definitely would take a day or two off of venice and attach it to rome. Venice is nice for the short term. It's pretty, but VERY touristy. It's just sort of a great relaxing city where you're cool with being lost all the time.
There is just SO much to do in Rome that they should really spend a little more time there I feel (and I'm sure they'll want to go to the vatican while they're there). Rome was one of my favourite big cities: it has the great, relaxed vibe of italy, (even though it's a metropolis), the history/culture, and the beauty.
