Question jump from student visa to a 90 day tourist - andorra?

Hi,

I'm currently living in Spain on a student visa/student card. It will expire soon and I want to stay for more time. I spoke with my consulate and they told me that once I leave Spain I can return for another 3 months as a tourist. Basically I need show that I have left Spain before my visa expires and return after it has finished. Since I am Canadian, to do a quick return home would be quite expensive, especially if I will be returning to Spain in a few weeks. Therefore I am looking at a closer location to do my hop in and hop out.

I am currently living in Barcelona and I saw that Andorra is not part of the Schengen agreement and I saw someone online suggest this as an option.

Though here is where my doubt come in: other information that I found online said that Andorra doesn't stamp passports but you can get a souvenir one. As well when I spoke with my roommate he said when he both entered and exited Andorra none of the border agents asked for any sort of ID.

Has anyone had any experience of jumping from a student visa to a 90 day tourist stay by staying in Andorra for a few days? What about experience while passing through Andorra (does spain stamp your exit and re-entrance)?

Another slightly more expensive option would be to go to the UK. Has anyone done this successfully?

Thanks for your help

P.S. In case you were wondering, I want to stay to find a job here and get a work visa, therefore staying illegally is not an option for me as it would create problems to obtain a work visa.

I'm pretty sure Andorra doesn't stamp, your best bet would be to fly to the UK as you said, or to Morocco which is a bit closer (you could even take an overnight bus/ferry there). I'm not sure how feasible it would be to find work on a tourist visa though.

a little late now, but MOROCCO, duhhh! It'd be a much more interesting/foreign experience than Andorra.
