Default Cheapest Way to Visit 3 Countries

- I've decided that I want to visit: Germany, Denmark, and Norway.

- 2 week time span.

- I'm coming from the United States, so I'll need a flight to Europe.

How much would this trip cost (estimate), and how could I make this trip cheap as possible?

-Fly into Dublin and take a train to Berlin?
-Avoid Berlin, Oslo, and Copenhagen. Spend time in the smaller cities?
-Sleep on the train?

My goal is to keep spending under $2000 USD.

Thank you

If you can catch a cheap flight to Dublin, take a Ryanair out to Berlin and catch one back to Dublin from Scandinavia. Overland from Dublin would cost out the wazoo in time and money.

Are you a student? I just got what I think is a good deal out to Heathrow in the height of summer... $585 JFK - LHR from StudentUniverse.com.

Including airfare, I think you could easily keep it under $2000. If you spend $75/day that makes $1050.

You might want to check out a three country select pass for train travel.

Never been to Oslo or Copenhagen but you CANNOT skip Berlin!!!

I am not a fan of sleeping on the train. I'm sure you have heard the advantages, but the disadvantage is that either you will be sleeping in a sitting position or you will shell out the equivalent of a hostel bed for a bed on the train. Yes it can save you time but I prefer to explore a city well rested.

Basically just sleep in hostels or CouchSurf, cook your own food most of the time, and don't go wild with the alcohol.

Flying directly into Frankfort or Amsterdam can also sometimes be a good option if you are not fortunate enough to live close to JFK.

Also something to keep in mind is that May starts to become a peak season. I'm assuming you want to go then because you are a student... well so do all the other students. leaving in April rather than may could save you a bundle.

I just looked up Tix from IND(Indianapolis - my home) to DUB (Dublin, IE) and it was 150 USD cheaper the last two weeks of April than the first two weeks of May....

Just some food for thought.
