well a quick question im off to amsterdam in a few days and id heard you could camp on this campsite and rent a tent off them but ive found no info at all about tent rental on campsites, does anyone know of (cheap!) campsites where you can rent tents too? or somewhere you can rent a tent and maybe some camping equiptment too?

I am pretty sure there are a few on hostelworld, but I think they are out of the city. I can't think of anywhere in the city that you could legally camp out.

I stayed at that hostel, but it was the wrong time of year for camping. I never saw an area there either for camping though. If it was there it was right next to the beach. Also, this place is about an hour or more from amsterdam.

Camp Zeeburg is just outside Amsterdam but still on a tram line so it's easy to get in and out of and they rent bikes.
I stayed there a few years ago and it's a well run campsite They rent space, tents and cabins. I think it's was around €8 at the time to pitch a tent but prices could be different now I think tent rental was around €10.
