Japan: Northern Japan where to go? Advice please
Hi All
So I am going to Japan for a couple of weeks and I have a spare few days. I was thinking from July 12th to around July 15th and the friend I am travelling with wants to head up north but I don't know the area at all. Any advice, anybody know any good places to go, preferably somewhere where at least they speak a bit of English and is fairly easily accessible.
Ideally it would be nice to be somewhere with stuff to do but maybe classically Japanese. Any thoughts would be very much appreciated
Alex

never been to Japan but one piece of advice-where ever you are staying, youth hostel or whatever take a business card and wherever you are going have someone at the hostel have the name written down in Japanese. If you get really lost, show some on the card and get directions, if you get really lost get in a cab and show the driver.

I'd check out a meetup group from meetup.com (japan). Lot's of English speakers that want to get together for all sorts of activities.
Also, they've had some disasters there so check the travel advisory.
Have fun!
