So Roxy and I are trying to figure out if we drink too much I'm sure that all you Tpunks will be just as bad as we are and make us feel much better about our lifestyle.

Me and my dual lives. And me being broke.

At college I have a drink maybe every month.

On the road I'd go with 2-4 nights 4-6 drinks on average, interspersed with the occasional more hardcore than 6 drink night, which doesn't happen very often. Lol. Asian genes get me drunk faster though.

Well now it's nonexistant, however, prior to the deployment and when I was in college, depending on my schedule, I went out at last Fridays, Saturdays, and Tuesdays (the big drinking week night at my college...), but sometimes Thursdays too. In those nights I would generally have a minimum of 5 beers, sometimes an unknown amount of beer or liquor, and be generally rip-hammered drunk. This does not include drinking during the day for rugby games and football games where we'd have at least 6 beers each and be rip hammered about 1 in the afternoon. This also does not include finals week when we've been up studying for days and exams are complete and we go to the bar in sweatpants at 10am after finals are complete and again get rip-hammered.

We also used to partake in "wednesday wine nights" once a month which always got out of hand every time, and also "porn and 40s" where we'd sit around and watch the frat guy's stupid pornos while drinking bud light 40s.

As you can see, my liver is black and rotten, and going to college when I get back, I will most likely adopt a similar lifestyle, because I was able to maintain such a drinking schedule before, while maintaining a 3.8 GPA.

My drinking is based pretty much entirely on what crowd I'm around. If I'm traveling or its football season I drink a lot, if I'm stuck in my rut of work/school and not hanging out with party people I don't drink at all. Definitely not the type that stocks the fridge with beer and just has one with dinner. I tend to either get drunk or not bother in the first place (except when watching football, then I might go with a happy medium)

Yeah, theres our reason for the question. We aren't broke, but when you have 2 people drinking a fair amount, that trip fund starts to suffer. You know by that 6th drink, well, theres a nights accomodation in Eastern Europe. But f*ck its fun to sit around and get trashed while discussing life and future travels. What to do!?

Go out to Eastern Europe and get drunk there instead.

I feel the same. I went out to the local bar for the first time and it hurts to think that one drink could pay for two nights accommodation in Guatemala, but what to do? I guess you could find people to buy you drinks.

Well i am not going to be to much help i just turned 18 so the life of drinking has just begun for me. but with Tequila as my drink of choice i do anticipate a few forgotten nights and a few blury mornings. :D

If you guys are in Europe next year we all have to have a meet-up so i can share my first international drink with you, Christen the new kid on the block.

is it just my mind that goes to the gutter all the time?

Anyway yeah when I am at home it's maybe a beer a night during my wind-down time else when I travel it's on like donkey kong. One of my nights in Guam we had a beach bbq thing that not many staff showed up for. Well the hotel had bought us a shitload of beer, I am talking a 50 gallon plastic trash can 3/4 full. Me and 3-5 other guys wiped it out that night. All told I had 22 bottles of beer in 3 hours. Woke up the next morning on the beach. It was amazing.

when i worked in a ski resort it was every night (at back at work 6am the next morning! woo!) and in europe it was even more frequent, if thats possible! daytime drinking is just so much more common over there! but now I'm at uni and its probably down to about once a week due to poorness and laziness.

During the week I might have a bottle of wine over a few nights. Wednesdays always involve a few warm up beers before soccer, then a few cool down beers after soccer. But the weekends are when I make or break my savings account. If I'm going climbing I generally don't drink much, if any, on weekends. But, if I've got no climbing on, then all bets are off, especially if I go to bender town with my bender mates that are on benders with other bender people. On these festive occasions I'll consume an unknown quantity of alcohol, spend a huge but unknown amount of money, wake up in an unknown persons house on an unknown floor with an unknown street sign under one arm and an unknown letterbox under the other. What happens on these nights is unknown to all

I'm not much of a drinker in that I don't usually get drunk. The few times I have involved tents and way too much interest in the feel of the pavement against my bare feet (in December).

However, I usually have a beer or some wine once a week.

Is this a rumour, or is it true that Louisiana lowered the drinking age to 18?

I don't think you have a problem unless you really develop a dependence (or a health condition). When I was traveling I usually drank every day, taking a night off every 10 days or so. I actually drank so much in Greece I developed a heart condition and had to tone things down a bit. Not cool.

On the other hand, I've only drank a few times since being home. I'm purely a social drinker now, so unless I'm hanging out with certain friends and going out, I rarely drink.

Nicole- don't let your deployment slow you down! My buddies in the army were the best drinking mates when I was in Iraq.

not to be a TP mom or anything (or a hypocrite because there have been plenty of TPunkers who have seen me wasted) but alcoholism develops into alcoholic pretty damn quick. my brothers drinks/drank like you all do...and how i do sometimes. one quit drinking last year (he's 33) and the other is still trying for "rock bottom" (he's 31). he's a "functional alcoholic".

the point, take care of yourself TP-ers. if you can't stop drinking for a month without thinking of it all the time, you've probably got a problem. that's how i discovered mine. i just try to tone in down now and develop better habits so that i can still enjoy drinking every once in a while for the rest of my life.

I don't drink at all, I just don't particularly like it. I used to go drinking with friends, back when we were 16/17 and it was cool to try and get into bars, etc. I gave up drinking at 17 and haven't been drunk since. Actually though, I did decide recently that maybe I should start trying alcohol again and see if there was actually anything I liked the taste of. I tried about 3 drinks, and realised I pretty much hate alcohol.
