hotels in San Diego?

Okay so I am headed out to San Diego for a job interview from December 9th to December 13th... everywhere I am checking, even hotwire is really expensive. I need to stay downtown because it's right in between the two places I need to go cos I have to take a cab (not shelling out cash to rent a car), so I needed to stay downtown or Harbor Island or Gaslamp district..... any thoughts? I need to book soon while I have the $. I don't want to stay somewhere shitty to be honest but I am not trying to go broke...

Suggestions? :)

You can usually do quite a bit better than Hotwire by using Priceline...try betterbidding.com and you can see what people are paying. Looks like a 4* downtown can be had for about $70 a night on a normal week.

By the way I just looked for cars and they're going for under $17 a day for an economy...are you sure taxis are going to be the best option? (don't forget to check on parking fees @ your hotel)

I figure the hostel scene is not for me this trip (I stayed in a USA Hostels in Hollywood last trip to CA and it was cool), because Friday morning I have to be somewhere to take a 4 hour exam and Saturday morning at 6am I have to be at this place ready to take a physical ability test. As much as I love the hostel scene, I know I didn't get a very good nights sleep ever when I was there in LA haha.

Brett where are you finding the $17 day car shit? I just went directly to somecar rental places and Avis was trying to charge $280 for an economy car for 4 days... I was like uhhhh no. And I can definitely do a 4* for $70/night! I'll check Priceline, thanks!

San Diego is the United States and approximately 1.3 million residents of the eight cities. With good weather, beautiful beaches all year round and many great places to go, San Diego is the perfect holiday destination, you and your family.

The Dolphin Motel has affordable rates. It has apple-pie anatomic apartment that aren't fancy, but they are ample and accept flat-panel televisions and baby refrigerators. The auberge is amid just a abbreviate airing from San Diego Harbor, abreast the docks area abounding of the sportfishing boats depart.

You can usually do absolutely a bit bigger than Hotwire by application Priceline...try betterbidding.com and you can see what humans are paying. Looks like a city can be had for about $70 a night on a accustomed week.
