so i leave on my first solo backpack trip to europe on march 10. i land in london and leave on may 10 from amsterdam. i have been to euope twice. first time about six years ago i spent ten days in london and amsterdam. the second time was in aug. 2003, my band went on tour of spain. we drove from south to north stopping in six cities. i am traveling for the first time anywhere by myself and i'm a little nervous. i have my plane tickets and railpass paid for already. i just went and bought the 2 month pass. i like the idea of leaving when ever i want and not have to worry about how many days i travel. i have an itnerary planned out of a circle around westren europe and want to get some opinions.
land in london
to edinburgh
to dublin (and around ireland)
back to london
to paris
to versailles
to barcelona (when in spain we played there but did not get to see the city)
to nice and monaco
to cinque terre
to florence
to rome
to venice
to interlaken
to munich
to prague
to berlin
to amsterdam.

does this look possible for a two month trip?
also, what is the best way to get to ireland from either london or edinburgh? plane or ferry?

i plan on staying in hostels the whole time and i have about $5000 to $6000. is that enough?

i anyone is interested in meeting up with a 26 year old dude from hollywood, ca. e-mail me at metalsign77@yahoo.com

thanks

Hey Metalsign,

I don't think you're "taking on" too much with your itinerary, there. It is pretty sweeping, but if you've bought a rail pass, that is the time to do it. And really, for each place on your list it works out to about 4 days there, so that gives time to slow down, unpack, and become a local for a few days.

I'd seriously look into flights from Britain to Ireland. Check Ryan Air, Easy Jet, and all those new cheapie carriers. Plus, there are internet sites that do discount travel, like www.cheapflights.co.uk.

Have a blast! I'll be following you to London about a week later (but transferring to another flight right away, hopefully)...

Looks totally doable to me, bro! Be careful that you don't go spending crazy in London at the beginning of your trip. It's expensive there and could take a bite out of your budget- right off the bat !

Agreed (Take it from our Travel Pro Veteran WWM B) ). They've got super cheap flights for that route!

Your money should be more than enough! Enough to just about book private rooms for every night of your trip, if thats what you want!

Good job !
