Default Best time to book RyanAir?

How far out is it best to book on RyanAir? I notice prices are a lot higher the farther out you look, so is it best to wait til just a couple weeks before?

It depends on the time of year you plan to fly. For the peak summer period, I would suggest looking around 4 - 5 months in advance. If going out of season, then the best deals tend to be 1 - 2 months in advance.

I suppose it is better to stick to the prices beforehand if you want to book. The prices should be much lower when it is not a hot season.

I've noticed many specials throughout the years with Ryanair, even booking just a few days ahead. They get you by charging you fees to check in your luggage(s).
If you're flying with carryon only (small to medium backpack), you'll be able to maximize your savings with them.

Ugh I hate ryan air.

They are good if you know how to use them but if you don't they can get spendy very quick.

The prices for flights are all over the palce, you really just kinda gotta catch the specials as they come up and on their web page they have those special offers so if you can nail one of those you can fly somewhere for like 10 euros kinda thing.

Best is to show up with a carry on bag or small pack 10kg or less not check luggage and click no to all the extra special gimmicks they are trying to sell when you book your ticket like travel insurance, luggage and ryan air talk...

Where you are gonna get creamed is if you click that you don't have baggage to check (you gotta do this when you book your ticket) and then you infact do have a bag to check at the airport. In most cases this can cost you more then the price of your ticket.
Then is always the fun of running around Europe trying to find a printer cause you gotta print your boarding pass before flying.

Always a pleasureable experience with ol ryan air

I am only bringing my back pack to Europe, so it should fit within their limits for carry on. I figure RyanAir is the best way to get from Oslo to mainland Europe.

With Ryanair, never ever rely on thinking "it should fit"! If it is 1cm too big in any dimension, or 0.1Kg too heavy, they will charge you €100 each-way to check the bag into the hold.

They are a terrible airline, it will be an uncomfortable experience and they have appalling customer service. People use them for one reason only; If you abide by all their rules, they can be very cheap.

Check the price on Norwegian, as they sometimes offer comparable prices with far better service, including free in-flight Wi-Fi!

I was actually just looking at Norwegian, as that is who I am flying to get to Oslo... and was surprised how cheap a couple flights were. So I may very well book through them to get to Munich. It means an extra day in Oslo, but oh well. I was thinking of going to Drøbak anyways.

Then the choice to go east or west... hmmm. Previous itinerary out the window

True story about Ryanair. Fees all over the place. I agree on Norwegian. I get specials in my emails almost weekly and their prices are so tempting.

Something else with Ryanair, their airports are usually miles outside the actual city and I mean miles. Go on google maps and check out where Stansted is compared to London-mind you that used to work for me as it meant it was a lot closer to where I lived and I only needed to take 1 train but still.

This is very true, but I have found that they have convenient transportation set up to the main city to and from these airports.

They have soooo many people taking advantage of their cheap fairs that they often take up whole wings at airports or broker deals that give them dominance at these alternative airports.

As long as you give yourself an extra 30 to 1 hr for transportation to and fro, you should be fine.
