Need a cheapy in Sydney

I'm planning to visit Sydney, Australia, in 2006. The flight alone will cost over $1,000 so I need to cut costs everywhere else. For accomodations, all I need is a place to sleep, shower, safely lock away my things, & catch a bus. I don't care if it's a dive in a poor neighborhood.
