SO i know it's bad, and i'm a littl edrunk, but i just found out today that it isn;t possible for me to go to Australia. It basically has to do with money, because the study abroad program i was working with jacked up prices!!! this means i can't do it anymore and i'm trying to figure out a last minute plan. My university offers an anthro/archeaology program to the netherlands and i'm trying to get into that. does anyone know of any good anthro/archeaological programs in europe or other places for the summer? I hope this netherlands thing works out, but if not, i'd love to know of others! i neeeeed to feel better, because right now, i'm not so happy!

Are you actually interested in Anthro/Archeo or do you just want something to get you abroad?

Actually, Anthro is one of my majors. I really wanted to study abroad, but since I'm double majoring with music, i couldn't study abroad for a semester or year because that would mean i would be in school for another semester. If i can do it during the summer, it would be way benficial because i'd get credit and get a chance to study abroad.

I'm so sorry, that really sucks. I don't have any practical advice, just wanted to let you know I feel your pain!! Hopefully you'll work something else out though.

well at least you're dealing with the pain in the best way possible drowning your sorrows in alcohol always seems to help me

Seriously though, I really do feel for ya. That sucks. Is there any way you could do it without the credit & just see some fantastic exotic place for the sake of seeing some fantastic exotic place?

I can`t say for sure but there are sooooo many study abroad programs and most schools will even let you participate in another school`s program, though it may require a few more hoops to jump through. A simple search online should lead you to loads of possibilities.

Good luck!

That's rough! I was hoping to do some study abroad in the UK, only to find out I couldn't do it because it would have to be another school's program and that would mess with my "residency" requirement.

Good luck finding someplace to go! (Or just take the money and backpack it anyway )

At this point, you're probably boned for summer 06 programs, since the apps usually have to be in by early march. I would suggest going packing. To australia, if that's where you're so inclined, though they are getting ready to start their winter...
