yeah, so i'm packing my backpack for my first "european backpacking" experience that we leave for the day after tomorrow. i've made this finite checklist for everything i think i need to bring to accommadate all the places we are going and things we are doing. well, i'm done packing and i still have loads of room in my bag. weird . when i pack for backcountry excursions i pack the bare essential and still end up with a full and heavy pack. it's quite different when you don't have to pack to save your life. ie: tent, sleeping bag, food, clothing for being outside 24/7. it a good thing though...not only do i have a light pack, but i'll be able to take things home as well.

There's so much you're going to want to bring back, so it's a good thing you have the extra space!

Since you have the space, it might be worth adding a thermal - last time we were in UK in March it snowed the first day. Hopefully you'll have a better "spring" than we're having currently, I am so sick of snow. At least it poured with rain yesterday so some of the streets are finally clear. Gack!

Have a great time in UK, glad you finally get to make the "big one"! First of many, I'm guessing...

I second the thermal! We went to Irleand in JUNE and it was so cold and rainy!! I was dressed for summer and it was not.
