From an e-mail list I subscribe to:
Quote:
Base fare is $196 RT RT and with taxes it's $412 RT. It appears that August is sold out and July is nearly sold out (those of you who subscribed to the weekend edition may have grabbed all the seats!). As I write, for example, July 4 outbound and July 12 return is available. But most of August is gone. However, April, May, June, and September are pretty much wide open. You'd pay something like $900 RT peak season on other airlines.* You can fly clear thru early January. A few dates sold out just before Xmas. This is UNHEARD OF! I sent out a newsletter yesterday to the weekend edition subscribers telling them about a New York-London fare but it appears that this sale has expanded to most Virgin Atlantic gateways (sorry for the repetition if you subscribe to more than one newsletter). Hurry to grab this. Seats are selling out and I think it's a mistake fare that simply hasn't been corrected.
Only available on Travelocity (use a flexible date search, but seats are quite available except for August), nowhere else. Don't bother looking at Virgin's site or Orbitz. This fare could change at any moment. And if you want to travel beyond London to some other European destination, then check out the discount airlines.
....
There's an AMAZING sale going on to London from Miami on Virgin Atlantic.
Base fare is $270 RT and with taxes it's $488 RT. But that includes peak summer travel, including July, although August seems to have sold out pretty much. You can fly clear thru December. You can EVEN fly Dec 20 outbound and return Jan 2 (!!!!!). This is UNHEARD OF!

So those of you, especially from the west coast, that haven't booked your summer flights yet...you might want to jump on this opportunity!!!

I checked that out because I'm going to be in Europe all summer and I was trying to get tickets for my girlfriend to come and meet me for a couple of weeks. But I can't seem to find anything under about 900 from seattle. The dates can be fairly flexible, sometime in June or July. Any ideas? Any help would be great.

Things like the following always help:
How long do you want her to come for?
When is the earliest she can leave?
When's the latest she can come back?

A friend tipped me off to this one today... Luckily, I got my upcoming trip to LHR booked for about $440, so I'm not feeling like a schmuck - but I will DEFINITELY use this deal to book something toward the end of the year.

Wow, sweet deal. Im looking for flights to Europe this summer too - just have to be in Salzburg by the 7th of July so Ive been tryng to decide qucikest way to get there. Mabye use this to fly to London and get a Ryanair flight the rest of the way. Icelandair has some pretty cheap flights to, and the best part is they offer a deal that lets you stop off in Rejkjavik for up to 7 nights before continuing your flight to another European city with no penalty. A great way to see Iceland considering its so expensive to get there otherwise.

Ok, I feel like a complete idiot. Can someone please offer some assistance. I would like a ticket departing from Seattle around the 22nd of June (+/- 1 day) and coming back around July 10. I can't seem to get it under $900. Is their any variable that I am missing to get it under 500? Thanks.

Sorry that I didn't catch it in your first post...
Seattle is not a Virgin Atlantic city...San Francisco is the closest one. That's why you can't seem to find tickets for under $900.

Do you guys think there will be another deal similar to this available in about two months? At the moment I am still not certain if I'm going this summer but I should have a better idea within the next few months.

Hrmm... looks like the deal's all gone on Travelocity, but Virgin-Atlantic's having their own fare sale on their web site.. http://www.virgin-atlantic.com
I'm getting R/T from San Francisco in the $460 range (incl. taxes) for spring and fall - no summer, unfortunately.
British Airways has had some great London fares as well lately - looks like their little fare war may be heating back up for the first time in a couple of years. As always, good for us - except for the fact that the flights will be as full as ever.
