hey guys.
k well my buddy and I orginaly planned on going to europe just the two of us but now 2 of our friends wanna go with us too.
Well ive read that its dumb to travel with more than 2 people becuase its just a hassle and we are going to be hitchiking so ahha there goes our rides.
Anyone got any input on what i should do?? Im thinking about just going for it and if it doesnt work out either go off by myself or get one of my buddies to branch off with me and go different ways as the others.
Thanx for any input

Ouch that really sucks... Hmm... maybe make it so undesirable (mention how you'll gladly sleep in the rain if itll save you $15) that they wont want to come. or tell them ahead of time that the itenerary you set it very very very flexible so you might want to go to Greece instead of Italy at the last minute. If they dont like that idea, they might be more willing to branch off...
Or just plain out tell them you don't want them to go. But that'd be kind of mean

4 friends of mine backpacked through Europe for a month and change a few years ago. (i was supposed to go with them but couldn't...)
They ran into the same issues: Glen wanted to do this, Bill didn't want to, Chris didn't care, Sean didn't want to, etc.
The thing is, they had a rough idea of where they wanted to go, and made it work. They had a ton of fun and worked along with it.
If your friends are really friends then they won't be a PITA. Otherwise you're properly fuckered
No, really, though, it helps- pooling resources for food, etc. But hitchhiking and stuff is out for the most part. (not that its a bad thing... but I've done it too.)
The best thing to do: Explain to the two new guys that this is what you plan on doing. If they don't like it, its okay. Plan on meeting up at certain points in the trip, travel together a bit, then break up to meet somewhere else again.

Ya meeting up along the way will be better. Traveling in large groups means your talking to eachother and highlighting the fact your tourists. I know Irish guys that got the snot kicked out of them (group of 5) they think it was just because they where over heard by some dickhead locals. I got absolutly no hassle in the same situation they assumed I was local.
