So, after maybe a year of planning and saving I have finally booked a flight for my trip to Europe. I was very interested in seeing Spain and Italy so I searched the net and came across this site and have been pretty much stalking the boards ever since. All the stories and what not have given me the confidence and motivation to go alone and to take a longer trip. I leave on the 25th of this month and because i have no idea when i wanna come back or if i'll work or whatever, I left my return until just before next xmas with a $200 fee to change. The site is freakin incredible and the posts have kept me entertained and motivated to go as well as informed. So, i fly into london (only cause it's the cheapest destination), then hop on a plane to Spain and pretty much start my trip there. When I leave i'm gonna be the most worried nervous little baby as i have never really been to any big cities, esp alone. I land in Toronto just after 11am and my plane for london doesn't leave till 8:15pm so if anyone lives or works near Pearson, it would be wicked to have lunch or a beer or something, I'm gonna go crazy waiting. So freakin geeked up that i can't sleep.

that sounds totally fantastic, mate! i'm doing pretty much the same thing, except i'm leaving on the 14th! I'm probably going to be kicking it in Istanbul for the first three months, but after that I'm going with the flow.
If you ever want to meet up, just drop me a line. I'm not leaving until x-mas 06' either

Well richard you should be able to tell me what to do and see in Istanbul at least. I'm probly gonna spend 3-4 weeks each in Spain and Italy, and then its kinda open from there. I have a freind playing hockey in Germany somewhere that i'd like to visit, and an exchange student i sorta dated living in Hamburg (by the way, is Hamburg worth visitng anyone???). Probly spend most of the spring in eastern europe then make my way back up to the netherlands and either go home or find a place to work for the summer.
