Hi, thanks for taking a minute to help me out!!! I haven't formulated too much of an itinerary yet but before I can I would like to know what towns/cities have great underground music and art scenes? I figured it might be a central topic on travel punk but I haven't seen it discussed much on these boards... Do you all have any suggestions? Links? Thanx a million!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

haha thats how i originally found this site as well olygurl and i thought there would be more discussion on punk related stuff, etc. but not really, just lots of really good travel advice...

i wish i could help you more, but i'm from asutralia, so i only really know the australian scene

i'm going to europe this january/february...i'm not really sure of the underground arts/music areas, but i'm sure if you just check out some online gig guides you will be able to find some bands you have heard of playing around, and well then you can just meet people there and ask them

that's my plan anyways =P i get to see converge in germany!!!! yehhhhh

Thanks guys... I guess I'll have to do some actual research... Hey Brent- do you know The Bangs? They're friends of mine- I know they've toured Austrailia a few times. I saw Sea Scout here once and they're from your part of the world... if you ever want to travel around the US, let me know!

If you wanna see punks take up a squat in Camden town in London.

If you wanna see Claire's Boutique's version of Goths cruise the pubs in Belfast.

Just look for any anti-war or globalization protest and your search for punks is pretty much over.

Hey!

There are some fantastic alt clubs and pubs in London town... If you get the chance, I'd recommend a club called The Boarderline, just off Tottenham Court road - it's one of those little PACKED clubs that you meet the best people in. Not too pricey for a central London club, and they play hardcore, metal, punk and even some real dirty drum & bass from what I remember!

Hope thats some help

xx
