Gift certificates to stores such as Cabellas or REI, sleep sheet, (why can't I think of anything??), memory card for a digi camera... brain... frozen.

Yea same thing I was thinking of! Since I'm going on my trip this next summer I want to give my family some links of things I would need. I was thinking like Travel sheet, and power converters.

But that was kinda my question, which power converter/s did you buy and use? I was looking at one at Jax (a local outdoorsy travel type place) and I wasnt sure what I really needed, I was kinda confused. Can someone give me a link to a good (but inexpensive if possible) converter package? Thx!

GUIDEBOOK came to mind and amazon.com is cheap for those.

Good stocking stuffers are travel sized toiletries. Gift cards are always good for a place like Target, REI, or even JC Penny to get some clothes for it. Camping stuff is good if you plan to camp at all.

Personally, money is always the best gift. That is all I am asking for this christmas except for rain gear and some jeans (I am down to 1 pair now!).

We got a kit for power conversion at Wal Mart for like $25. It had the actual converter then a bunch of plug adaptors. Very handy. We brought them all because we weren't sure where all we were going.

Just thought - a laundry kit was handy. We got one at Magellan's and it was great for hostels. Obviously, we could have lived without it, but it was nice.

Oh a swiss army knife or Gerber came in use almost daily.

Brain... working... better.
