What is the general rule about time and arriving at a hostel for check - in?? I am considering arriving into Berlin & Warsaw via night trains that get in at 1:30 am & 11:30 respectively? Bad idea? thanks TPr's!!!!!!!!!!

Nah, many places will have 24-hour check-in. Just make sure you book one of those. And always make sure you call ahead to tell them you're going to be arriving late (and an approximate time) so they don't give your bed away!

You can check in any time but they sometimes won't let you into your room till after 3pm because they usually clean the rooms between 12 and 3. You can still store your lugage and use the showers and stuff until the room is ready.
