Where are you from? Where does your initial flight/train take you? That will help. I am also assuming you will have a 21 day unlimited, all over europe pass. I can map a trip for you with the above info. Any places you want to spend more time than others or equal times in each?

Picking a route is very personal, it all depends on what YOU want to do and where YOU want to go.
As a starting point I would begin by looking at plane tickets, since it's the biggest expense. Flights to some cities will be cheaper then to others, so I suggest you shop around and scope out the prices in a few different airlines and airports in the cities that interest you. Once you have a price that looks good to you buy the ticket and go from therer. You can fly in and out of the same city, which would dictate a loop for your travel. If you decide to fly into city A and out of city B then it's all up to you what you see - you can zigzag to different destinations between those two cities.
Also check out the Registry forum - people post their travel schedules there and maybe something will spark your interest or at least give you an idea what others are doing.
Hope that gets you started. Best of luck!
