So I leave tommorow for Spain but I have a stop over in Paris. Not only do I switch planes, but I also switch airline carriers. I was wondering if I will be able to check my bags in the US and have them arrive safetly in Spain or will I have to check them, get them in Paris, and check them again. Any help will be grealtly appreciated.

What are the two carriers? If they're affiliated (i.e. via StarAlliance, OneWorld, SkyTeam, etc.) then it should be handled for you - just be sure to ask before you depart.
If you DO have to pick it up and go, I wouldn't worry too much - at larger int'l airports, you go through an international transfer area, so you don't have to go through customs and all that until you get to your final destination...
Good luck, and bon voyage!

Ask when u check your bags. then you'll be absolutaly sure, and dont loose the tag thing they give. if you bags get lost, that will help them find them

Make sure you get a boarding pass for your connection in Paris. Be persistent here in the States, telling them you'll need it in Paris. Even if they can give you one showing the seat unassigned, that would be good. Otherwise, the retards in Paris will make you go through immigration and customs as if you're staying in France, then go back through the ticket counter and recheck in there.
Don't know what the malfunction is in Paris, but I've flown through there several times and they make me do it every time. All over the world, elsewhere, you get off your plane, follow the signs for connecting flights, and go to your next gate. Paris won't let you do that without a boarding pass for your next flight.
As my buddy says of France: "The French copy no one, and no one copies the French..."
