Isn't he cute? I love that picture. His parents were standing just off to the side and they were all speaking Punjabi.

Voyd-- I have a close-up shot of the Buddha statue that I'll post tomorrow for you.

Wow, those are some awesome pictures. I really like the ones over looking the city just because it must be cool to sit up there and feel like your just raised up above everything.
Like a little hidaway or something.

Wow, that is AWESOME!!! Thanks J!!!

I really LOVE the stylized depiction of clouds and water in Oriental motifs! Like in his halo. I got a little of that in my tattoo, as well!

Is Buddha giving us the finger, though?

That is EXACTLY why I got the close-up! You know me though, I love that kind of shit.

Maybe he's just tired of sitting in that position.

Awesome pics! I got a chance to go to the British Museum last week when I was in London. Their displays of different Asian cultures and the different styles of Buddha depiction used in different countries (and time periods) and cultures was quite interesting if you are into this sort of thing. If you get over there, definately check it out.

Okay, for those of you that are interested, here are tons of pics taken at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum... if I remember correctly it is the largest museum in the world devoted exclusively to Asian art and artifacts.

Sorry about the blurriness. They do not allow flashes to be used on cameras and each room had at least one-- and sometimes two-- people "patrolling" and watching the picture-takers carefully. And it's a VERY dimly lit museum.

Here are a few of my favorites:
