hhhmmm, I'll give ya one of each
least amount of money: San Francisco California
Description: My girlfriend and I woke up one day and decided instead of going out in Reno we would drive to Frisco for the weekend. Good thing I have a van, we stayed for three weeks starving at the bank atm waiting for my direct deposit to come through to by something to eat, funny though, we always had smoke and long nights in the clubs. Dont ask how, because I honestly dont know, but we had a blast. We had my van decked out to resemble an RV, we kept it parked at the university hospital parking garage because they could only charge you for 24 hours parking, and we bathed in the cold ass salty water along the coast west of the city. All in all we stayed for 3 and a half weeks for with about 200 bucks. B)
Most in short time: London England
Description: First time overseas, planned two weeks in London with 2200 usd. Two words sum it up...FUCKED UP!!

this is not first hand knowlege, but many travellers have told me the three places to go to make your money last the longest is; india, thialand (sotheast asia), and china. africa is supposed to be very cheap also, but public transport is a bitch from my understanding.
if you are looking to make your money go the farthest stay out of europe, even eastern europe is becomeing more expensive, i had a guy quote me price of 29 euro for a night in a hostel, i have never paid more then fifteen and that was in new york city.

KC, I heard the same about Thailand to the tune of $5 a day to live. How sweet is that
That bums me out that Eastern Europe is getting expensive

I plan on hanging out in Thailand for a month before I head to Europe next year. From what I hear you can live a royal life for very little, especially if you know people there.
Man I can't wait to leave my job and go travelling.

Yeah, what a jip! But I haven't worked in a while, so it'd be nice to get into the full swing of things for as long as I can take it
Most companies in the US give 10 days/2 weeks vacation, but studies have shown that most people don't really use them all up.
In Europe they give 4-6 weeks per year an thats the norm!

We get 4 weeks/year here in Aus TP - and most employers make sure you take them each year, or at the most only allow you to accrue 8 weeks before you have to take the time off or loose the time you have accrued.
I don't think i could handle having just 2 weeks/year off - 4 weeks isn't enough as it is

In canada, (well atleast the jobs that I've had) we get two weeks for the first three years , and then every year after that it goes up one week. To a maximum of 6 weeks (but that means that you've been there forever if your getting 6 weeks)

4-6 weekers- lucky dawgs!
I guess I don't mind not getting more than 2 weeks, if I love what I am doing. But, that just hasn't been the case so far Maybe I can work at a hostel part time so at the very least, I can meet people from around the world (and plug the site of course ).

when i was seventeen, i hitchhiked from central florida to upstate, new york. i left florida with twenty five cents in my pocket, and three weeks later arrived in new york.
i made it from florida to north carolina in a day, then stopped and worked two weeks, doing day labor, living in a homeless shelter, if i remember correctly during the los angeles riots, tey being the white yankee in a predominately, meth anphetamine doped homeless shelter, during a riot.
but, i arrived in new york, some three weeks after i began.
the things we do for love, but, for the life of me i can't remember her name; but, i do remmember the adventure.

i'm planning on going to the UK for a month on under 1500....thats including airfare, railfare (if we travel by rail or split a used car 4 ways w/ my friends), lodging, and food. Could be tight. These stories are encouraging however.....feels as though i'll be living in luxury.
it is possible right?
