I'm new to the board. I've yet to backpack, but I'm planning a trip next winter. Hoping to go across the Mediterranean region (it'll be too cold a further north). Anyhow, just saying hey.

Sounds like a good plan...I think you'll enjoy "off-season" travel to Europe. Be prepared for rain as much of the Mediterranean is a Wet/Dry climate and winter is the wet...
