I am desperately trying to get a hold of some friends I made while living in England. We lost touch in the past couple of years...and now I have NO idea how to get in contact! i have been searching online in all of these online directories for the U.K., but to no avail. There has to be a way to find their numbers! Maybe I am just a moron here. I have all their first and last names, and the names of the towns they live in. Does anyone know a good way to find my long lost mates???? Help!

Well, the easiest and probably the most fun way to do it would be to get on a plane and show up in their town. Then go from pub to pub to pub flashing their picture and consuming pints and see what you get.
Besides that, I don't have any other constructive ideas. *shrug*

Or instead of flashing you could look in the phone book... even if you get their parents I'm sure they'll know where your friend might be

Everyone that can vote in UK elections must be registered on the Electoral Register.
Bit of info. here:
http://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/your...vote/access.cfm
You should be able to find them when you get over here. There also seems to be a few websites claiming to search an edited version of the register and they may be more successful than searching online phone books.

Try to remeber the details about them. Like if they played soccer for a club or did they have favorite pub. The pub might know the person as a regualr or even know him/her personally. And a soccer club would have some inforamtion as well. Think of the little things and think is there anyway of using that to find them. Good luck!

I found one of them through an internet search thingy, and the rest of them weren't in there for some reason, or else I had to pay extra money to find out. I know they're out their somewhere...

Good news!
I found one of my friends from England. We had a nice long chat, and after 2 years it was as if we'd never been apart. He happens to be coming to New York for holiday in the summer and I'm going to meet him. I can't stop smiling!!!
Some advice for all you travelers out there: keep in touch! write down email addresses/phone numbers, and don't lose the friends you've made, (even though they'll probably be there on the other end with open arms if you do) then you won't be in this situation, although its such a great feeling to reconnect with someone after a long time.
