Is there anything to do in Las Vegas other than gamble? I'll be going there at the end of may working. I hear the drinks free if your gambling. Fools..

We'll be stoping in New York for 2 days on the way back but I think everythings planned out for there.

there's a TON to do in Vegas... just bring money... Actually, there's a lot of free stuff to do (do a search on Vegas freebies on Google) but the really fun stuff will cost ya - the town is designed to bleed you dry. (I know this. I briefly lived there.)

Anyway, if you're into the clubbing thing, there are a zillion clubs to choose from. From the exclusive/ritzy/wait-in-line-forever-to-see-the-upper-crust thing at the Palms to the ass-n-titty free-for-all at the Beach. (Seems to be very popular with young travelers.. woohoo!)

If you're into the outdoors, you can drive 15 min. west of town and hike/climb around Red Rock Canyon, which is absolutely beautiful. Here I am on top of one of the huge rock formations:

There are also excursions to the Grand Canyon, whether by bus, small plane, or even helicopter.

Also, a ton of the hotels have their own amusement parks, which can be pretty fun, if a bit cheeseball, and if you get a ride out to the Nevada/California stateline, you can ride Desperado, one of the world's tallest rollercoasters.

I'd love to do a fear and loathing there but I'll be with workmates who can't see me like that. Strip clubs was the first thing on the list in the meeting about the vegas trip, this might sound sad but I've never been to one. They don't have many in ireland.

Would like to see the grand cannon aswell.

Strip clubs? Go to Cheetah's - it may not be the glitziest, but the girls are the nicest, and it's where a lot of locals hang out, so there's no BS pressure for dances, etc. When you do get dances, you'll get the most, uh, mileage. Don't listen to cab drivers' recommendations on clubs - they're paid to take you there. As hot as the girls are, don't go to Club Paradise, as you'll be treated like dirt by the staff and the girls. Keep in mind that you can go through money just as fast as in the casinos in these places...

Strip clubs...uh, Spearmint Rhino!! It's not that I've been there, um...and it's not that I noticed that the beautiful women outnumber the men. I also didn't notice that the beautiful babes wouldn't leave a single guy alone. It's not like we took a friend for his bachelor party there or anything... That place ROCKS!!

Vegas, you'll have fun whatever you do..

Vegas is nuts! The casinos are something else altogether, I feel like I didn't get to do anything I'd see something and say to myself I'll have to go back and have a look at that but I'd get caugth up in something else and never get to go back. I didn't get to go on any of the rollercoasters which was a big disapointment.

I was working so I couldn't get to drunk at night and I didn't even know about the $10 minimum until day 2 or 3. I didn't know there was a monorail till the last day so I was stuck down one end most the time. There was a shootout! Right outside a casino we where in but we didn't know about it till the next day, we saw the cop cars but didn't know what was going on.

You don't see much cops in Vegas do you.

We drove out to hoover dam one of the days, that's another amasing feet of engineering but it was 109 that day, not paddy weather I had spent most day one going around saying "I must buy some sun tan lotion" I got brunt to a crisp.

We only had a day and a half in New York but I have a friend living there and we went on an awful bender, had to walk something like 15 or 20 blocks back to the hotel wraped drunk! He went straight onto work.

I'd love to go back but it is an expensive place and I got sick on the way back, couldn't pop my ears for 2 days and I'm still bunged up, so I'm in no rush to get back on one of those cramped planes.

I lost every penny I had.

... and that, my friends, is the Prime Directive of Las Vegas-- grab 'em by the ankles, hold 'em upside down and shake!

Funny, most Vegas stories end that way Glad you had a good time regardless! Sorry about the plane ride back. They really need to loosen up economy a bit.
